COMPLETED PROJECTS:

Bonneville County Historical Society, Inc.
Idaho Falls, ID

On December 26, 1998 a coupler sleeve on the fire suppression system located in the attic of the Bonneville County Historical Society froze and broke. The system had been inadvertently charged with water and during the cold winter froze causing the coupler to fail. The three-inch pipe sent five hundred gallons per minute of water cascading through the three-story museum. The water ran for approximately forty-five minutes flooding the museum and its contents with approximately 22,500 gallons of water. Mike Davis with All American Cleaning was on site within thirty minutes of receiving the call for assistance. The museum had many priceless and one of a kind artifacts on display. Due to the delicate nature and age of the artifacts and displays AACR monitored the drying process several times a day including weekends and holidays to make sure we had a balanced drying system (to avoid over drying was as important as under drying). Using high velocity air movers, refrigerant dehumidifiers, hepa filters and additionally an open air drying system was used where appropriate to control the relative humidity and temperature to bring the museum and its contents back to a dry balanced state with out causing further damage by drying to quickly. The entire drying process took about four weeks. The repairs to the museum took approximately six months. Due to the historical societies staff efforts and All American Cleaning & Restoration staff only about $10,000 worth of retail merchandise was lost all artifacts and collectibles were restored to there prior state.

Imperial Gardens Condominiums
Idaho Falls, ID

On August 28, 1998 Imperial Gardens suffered a severe fire damage to the center most units of an eight plex. All American Cleaning met with insurance company representatives to inspect and scope the eight-condo unit fire damage. Initially the insurance representatives had thought that the entire roof system was a total loss, this would really complicate things as the heat source for all of the units was cable-ceiling heat covered with plaster. Upon close inspection All American Cleaning determined that only 25% of the roof needed total replacement and if completed carefully the balance of the trusses could be restored by planking the bottom cords, vacuuming all insulation from the attic areas, careful sand blasting followed up with a very thorough vacuuming to remove all char, debris and sand blasting medium residue, thoroughly deodorizing the airspace, and encapsulating all sheathing and truss components with a permanent deodorant barrier of pigmented shellac. This was a complicated process considering the maximum height was 4'6 and minimum working area was 12" all work was completed over finished plastered ceilings. Two of the units had suffered severe fire damage, which constituted total demolition and reconstruction; four units had severe smoke damage and relatively minor damage to the two end units. By employing these innovative procedures there was a substantial savings in dollars as well as loss of use.
