Rexburg is the largest city in Madison County, Idaho. It measures a total of 9.84 square miles and has a population of 25,484. It was founded by Thomas Edwin Ricks and was incorporated in the year 1883.

The city is elevated 4,865 feet above sea level due to the fact that it rests on a shield volcano. No geological activity is expected anytime soon and none has been recorded in the recent past.
